Being a true follower of Mahatma Gandhi's rural economic model Mr. Prakash Pohare strongly believes that unless and until farmers flourishes, nation can't prosper. To bring this into reality he has designed and launched a movement called GRAMONNATI, which aims at thoroughly uplifting the rural community. In accordance with his commitment towards the farming community Mr. Pohare has started a guidance center for them in the office of the Daily Deshonnati. Moreover he has established an agro-processing unit at Chohatta near Akola. Apart from processing agriculture produce this unit also deals in cotton trading, which has helped to maintain the price level of cotton benefiting the cotton producer farmers.

Being the chief editor of an influential and impartial daily of Central India, Mr. Pohare has a good rapport with the leaders of all the political parties as well as various social movements. Many of them use to make it a point to visit the office of Daily Deshonnati whenever they visit Akola. Mr. Pohare's interaction with the political and social movement leaders has always proved helpful in solving the problems faced by the people from the various sections of the society. Mr. Pohare has been continuously raising the issue of the suicides of the farmers in Maharashtra through Deshonnati. The full credit goes to him that the state government which was earlier reluctant to admit the suicides, today acknowledges the same.

Mr. Pohare`s interest in community welfare has led him to head a number of social and educational institutions those included Nishant Co-op credit Society which hold the deposit to the turned over 1000 millions. He also heads Akola chapter of the National Association For The Blinds, Maratha Mandal, Nishant Gurukul and Little Star Convent etc. He also holds key positions in organizations such as Jagtik Marathi Chamber Of Commerce and Industries, Deposit Guarantee Corporation, Maharashtra State Co-Operative Credit Societies Federation etc. Mr. Pohare's weekly column `PRAHAR' is very popular amongst the readers. His pen acts like a whip while making a scorching attack against the bad elements in the society. The book titled `PRAHAR', containing his selected articles was recently published at the hands of
Mr. Balasaheb Thakrey, the Shivsena Suprimo.

His visits to various countries like America, Great Britain, Germany etc has helped to broaden his vision. Wherever there is a vision, success is bound to follow. Mr. Pohare has proved this well proven fact once again. Under his able leadership Daily Deshonnati is making progress by leaps and bounds.
